  • Central Council of Indian Medicine publishes 'Telemedicine Practice Guidelines' for Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani Practitioners

    Apr, 07-2020

Though the Indian digitial health policy advocates the use of digital tools for improving efficiency and outcome of the healthcare system, there has been no legislation or guideline for ASU practitioners on the practice of telemedicine through video, phone or internet based platforms. Lack of clear guidelines has created significant ambiguity for registered medical professionals of the ASU systems raising doubts on the practice of telemedicine. Hence, these guidelines have been introduced as measure to bridge the gaps in the legislation and the uncertainty of rules and serve as a step in the right direction in the field of ASU systems.
